

Kai A D Morgan Campbell


Dr. Kai Andito Damali Morgan Campbell is a registered clinical psychologist in Jamaica, with a doctorate in Clinical Psychology obtained from Carlos Albizu University in September 2001. She is wife to Chalik and a mother to Chy, Xi, Xan and Xo. In her work experience thus far as a lecturer at the University of the West Indies, a consultant at the University Hospital of the West Indies and in private practice and consultancy work, trauma has been a focal point. Trauma has shown its many faces in depression, anxiety, personality disorders and even ADHD and learning disabilities and sparked the passion to grow our knowledge and advance our healing in the Caribbean. She has conducted many training sessions, taught courses, been involved in several research endeavours and interventions and has been a staunch advocate for trauma-informed care. She is currently the Immediate Past President of the Jamaican Psychological Society (JamPsych), the Co-Chair of the Professional Practice & Standards Committee of the Caribbean Alliance of National Psychological Associations (CANPA) and the Mental Health & Psycho-Social Services Technical Working Group for Jamaica, sits on the Executive Board of the Lister Mair / Gilby School for the Deaf, and is a member of the American Psychological Association's Global Psychology Alliance and the Association for Black Psychologists. Her interests for both research and clinical practice include trauma, sexual behaviour, couples / relationship dynamics, and Caribbean psychology.
