KAHLE Journey
Let's Introduce
KAHLE Journey is a non-profit organization that is focused on promoting and advocating for trauma-informed Caribbean communities and societies. The organization has 4 pillars that represent the acronym of KAHLE [which means “well” in Zulu]: Kultivating [Research], Advocacy, Healing [Intervention Projects & Programmes], Learning Experiences [Training & Education].
Our work is crafted based on the 3-tiered public health model of prevention which means that we cover primary prevention [research, public education and advocacy], secondary prevention [screening tools for early identification] and tertiary prevention [interventions crafted to address moderate to severe problems/psychopathology]. Finally, we seek to build critical partnerships with agencies, civil society organizations, other non-profit organizations, community-based organizations, and the government; and seek funding in order to fulfill our very broad remit.

Advocacy
Support us in this pillar which not only promotes public education but utilizes data driven by the work of Kultivating. We aim to represent the voice of the Jamaica and the wider Caribbean through advocacy forming collaborative partnerships with like-minded organizations and also at the policy level as we seek to drive change.

Healing
Traverse into mindset shifting and behavior change as this pillar focuses on interventions tailored to the needs of our communities, individuals, or groups that we serve. We craft interventions that address the trauma [multigenerational, PTSD, developmental trauma] that is endemic in our society as we work closely with our parent company, our practice, Dr KAD Morgan & Associates.

Learning Experiences
Buttress our efforts in this pillar which is focused on creating and delivering training and educational experiences for all levels of society geared toward capacity building in trauma-informed care. This remit involves building Trauma-Informed Care Curricula for all systems [e.g. justice, education, healthcare, private sector] and tailoring these learning experiences to all persons existing within that system. Trauma Informed Care is for everyone.
